Summary of Position

Thalias is a leading company in the Cambodian hospitality industry employing over 400 staff. Thalias comprises three fine-dining restaurants - Topaz; Malis Phnom Penh, Malis Siem Reap, Arunreas– a luxury hotel, and Khéma, a dine-in and takeout gourmet shop.

Thalias is seeking for a Bartender. The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving drinks in restaurant, and directly interacting with guests.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Greet guests in a polite and welcoming manner, and thank guests with genuine appreciation
  • Handle guest inquiries and complaints in a timely and courteous manner
  • Offer an engaging experience to the guests and promote guest loyalty
  • Ensure that alcoholic drinks is NOT sold and served to guests under age of 21 years old
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of employees as well as guests

Operational

  • Clean glasses, bar service areas and equipment, and ensure bar mise- en-place is completed before service
  • Prepare and serve drink in specified glassware with an appropriate accompaniments for guests according to specified recipes
  • Promote drinks, cocktails, mock tails and/or bottled wines to guests
  • Check and maintain stock levels and drink accompaniments, rotate stock on a first in first out basis
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Understand and adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Attend meeting and training sessions where required
  • Pefrom other tasks as assigned

Other Requirements

Education and Vocational Training

  • At least grade 9 of general education
  • Certificate III in food and beverage Service from recognized vocational school of tourism

Experience

  • Minimum 2 year experience of a similar position, preferably with a fine-dining restaurant or 5-star hotel

Personal Qualities and Skills

  • Knowledge of drinks, accompaniments, storage and stock rotation, and how to promote products
  • Knowledge of legal measures for serving alcohol and alcohol consumption
  • Good customer service, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well with other staff members as part of the team
  • Dynamic and proactive attitude, smart appearance and good memory
  • Fast learner and willing to learn new skills
  • Able to work evenings, weekends and public holidays

Language and Computer Skill

  • Good command of spoken and written English. Knowledge of other languages is a plus
