Chief Engineer
Summary of Position
The Royal Sands is a new all-villa resort comprised of 67 units and located on the untouched island of Koh Rong. Scheduled to open Mid 2017, the property boasts a wide range of facilities and services for guests to enjoy from this intimate island destination. We are looking for a CHIEF ENGINEER. The Cheif Engineer will be in charge of directs, controls and coordinates all engineering activities in the operation and planned.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Specific Duties
- Directs and co-ordinates the engineering workforce in operations and maintenance of materials and Engineering Physical equipment
- Ensures monthly inventory taking and monitors as per the par stock
- Maintains efficient administration within the department preparing and submitting operational reports on time
- Monitors duty rosters, vacation plans, and schedules, public holiday schedules to ensure efficient use of human resources
- Assists in the preparation of the Resort’s annual engineering budget, monitors, and controls expenses
- Coordinates with all HODs to accordingly handle and repairs and preventive maintenance around the property
- Monitors the daily, weekly, monthly checklists and ensures all functions work properly
- Informs, advises and assists GM for overall maintenance in the resort
- Monitors and tracks/reports to RM for all suppliers used such as Electricity, Water, Gasoline, and plan for more efficient energy usage.
Human Responsibilities
- Leads the team by holding daily briefings and monthly communication meetings to discuss various aspects of operations and preparation with all concerned
- Trains and develops subordinates; follow-up and enforces orientation of all new employees and ongoing training of all staff
- Coaches, counsels, disciplines and develops all engineering staff
- Motivate, train and develop Personnel to be qualified for their specific assignment
- Observes and records employee performance hence inspires others to goal achievement and shows interest in staff career development
- Conducts interviews with potential candidates and is responsible for recruitment of staff
Relations
- Establishes effective employee relations and maintains the highest level of professionalism, ethics, and attitude towards all resort guests, clients, heads of department and employees
Replacement and Temporary Mission
- Performs other duties and handles projects as assigned by the General Manager

- Vocation or higher in any related field.
- Must be good at Effective Communication Skill, Teamwork and Customer Focus
- Proficiency in Computer literature
- Good command of English and other language is a plus
