Communications Officer

Summary of Position

The Communications Officer will be assigned to support the External Relations Department of Passerelles numériques Cambodia.

The Communications Officer is the one in charge of the whole communication of the center and contributes to support the external relations team in Cambodia, in the framework of the PN Global communication strategy and with the support of Asia Communications Manager. The Communications Officer will be reporting to External Relations Manager, working in the framework of FR strategy.

Objectives for communication

  • Increase the visibility of PN and PN Cambodia in the local community as well as throughout Cambodia
  • Promote an emotional and positive image of PN/PN Cambodia with the support of External Relations Intern
  • Give a clear understanding of PN’s strategy, mission and key messages (internally and externally)

Main Duties and Responsibilities


In the framework of this objective, duties and responsibilities are to enhance internal and external communication for PN Cambodia and implement strategy for all PN targets:

Web & social networks

  • Contribute to the Facebook page for PN Cambodia (news, Welcome post, Friday quote, promoting our partners, etc.) according to PN guidelines
  • Update PN website in coordination with the Asia Communication Manager.
  • Suggest ideas for increasing our online visibility.

Events coordination

  • Organize or support other departments for local events (Career Forum, BarCamp, Graduation ceremony, etc.)
  • Produce communication tools (leaflet, agenda, poster, banners, press release, press review)
  • Be in charge of media relations, of dedicated social media


  • Contribute to PN newsletter (1 article in French and/or English, every 3 months)
  • Contribute to PN Annual Report
  • Conduct interviews (with students, alumni, local PN staff, volunteers, etc.)
  • Contribute to partner reports
  • Create fundraising leaflets following PN template
  • Update PNC local leaflet following PN template

General life at the center

  • Tutor for the student newspaper club (help the students throughout the project)
  • Contribute to center’s projects (produce video, take pictures, update PN photo gallery, help on partners’ visit)
  • Help decorate the center (ideally planned and carried out with the students)
  • Support other departments (training, education, selection, ero, etc.)

Internal communication

  • Contribute to the in-house newsletter (in English, once a week)
  • Put together a PNC press review featuring press clippings (simple compilation of articles)
  • Help update the signs, including the partners’ wall
  • Produce diplomas and certificates

Alumni network

  • Support the “Solidarity Act” project:
  • Update the Wall of fame
  • Coordinate and support PNC Linkedin page


  • Take part in communication plan and initiatives
  • Participate in Knowledge management (update our drives and tools)
  • Organize, maintain and manage contact lists using Sales Force
  • Supervise the task of External Relations Intern in terms of communication aspect

To fulfill these objectives and carry out its tasks, the local communication officer will get support from the Asia communication Manager.

Working level of English

Other Requirements

  • At least 1 year professional experience in Communication or Journalism or Public Relation, Sales and Marketing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Very good organizational skills
  • Demonstrable ability to plan and prioritize own workload with minimum supervision
  • Basic knowledge in Photoshop, video making and other Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • Working Level of English
  • Can work in a multicultural and dynamic environment
  • Dedicated and Committed to the tasks given
