Country Financial Controller

Summary of Position

We are looking for Country Financial Controller to overseeing the operations of accounts department employees and outsourced activities; ensuring that all types of company transactions are properly processed; reporting monthly financial statements; coordinating the creation of annual budgets; and developing, implementing and maintaining an infrastructure of policies, procedures and calendars of activities to ensure that all the aforementioned are achieved, accurately, efficiently, timely and in compliance with accounting standards and tax reporting requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Management of the operations of the Accounting department
  • Implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive system of controls over all accounting functions within the Company’s in-country operations, as guided by the Group Financial Controller
  • Implementation and maintenance of an effective infrastructure of policies, procedures and calendar activities for the reporting of accurate and timely financial results as Guided by the Group Financial Controller
  • Coordination of creation of Country-wide annual budgets, and testing of their achievability
  • Calculation of variances between actual and budgeted results, and reporting the reasoning for variances to management
  • Monitoring the Company’s in-country compliance with any existing debt covenants and warning management of covenant breaches
  • Compliance with any filing requirements imposed by local governing authorities
  • Compliance with tax reporting and payment requirements

  • A minimum 5-10 years' working in accounting
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in Accounting with strong financial accounting knowledge is required
  • Fluent in English, speech and writing
  • Analytical thinking-ability to formulate and understand business issues, situations or problems by breaking them down into smaller parts and analyse them
  • Quality Awareness - Driven by the desire to identify, prioritise and maintain standards in order to meet internal and external demands
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical
