Director of Sales and Marketing

Summary of Position

A hospitality group is looking for a Director of Sales and Marketing who support the Owner and Managing Director to help them deliver their role efficiently and effectively. This position will be based in Phnom Penh.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Conceptualizing, Developing & Executing the Sales and Marketing Strategies

  • Able to propose relevant sales and marketing positioning based on the group vision and market research
  • Formalizes, executes and monitors the impact of the group overall sales and marketing strategy to drive the necessary changes in the sales processes, team behavior, marketing assets
  •  Develops the brand of Hotels as well as builds a sustainable, scalable and market-based sales and marketing strategy (e.g. researches competitor’s sales team strategies to identify ways to grow occupancy and RevPAR and increase market share etc…)
  • Sets sales goals and strategies and ensures alignment with the brand business strategy.
  • Ensures the development of a strategic account plan for the demand generators in the market, determines and develops marketing communication activities
  • Suggests innovative marketing ideas and proactively develops deployment strategies to continue to grow market share.

Internet - Strengthening the group web sales and marketing strategy (website, social media, OTA etc…)

  •  Hires, builds and drives a web-competent team of sales and marketing officers to meet performance targets
  • Develops a revenue-growing and brand-improving internet strategy for the group’s hotels

Maximizing Revenue & Managing Profitability

  •  Evaluates and supports market sales account deployment.
  • Monitors and evaluates event booking and market sales performance.
  •  Ensures Sales team understands and is leveraging customer/guest demand engines to full potential, focus on proactive selling as well as reactive selling.
  •  Participates in sales calls with members of the Sales and Marketing team to acquire new business and/or close on business.

Public relations and general relationship management

  • Develops strong community and public relations by ensuring property participation in local, regional and national tradeshows and client events.
  • Identifies public relations opportunities and coordinates activities to augment the overall marketing communication strategy.
  • Develops strong partnerships with local organizations to further increase brand/product awareness and manages internal key stakeholder relationships.
  • Serves as the property sales liaison with market sales/cluster sales, Event Booking, Revenue Management, Event Management, Regional Marketing Communications and other property departments as appropriate.

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service

  • Serves as the sales contact for customers; serves as the customer advocate.
  • Executes exemplary customer/guest service to drive customer/guest satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer/guest and ensuring their satisfaction before and during their program/event.
  • Serves the customer by understanding their needs and recommending the appropriate features and services that best meet their needs and exceed their expectations, while building a relationship and loyalty to the property and the brand.
  • Gains understanding of the property’s primary target customer and service expectations; serves the customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solution both prior to, and during the program/event.
  • Executes and supports Customer Service Standards and property’s Brand Standards.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Develops each property identity while maintaining a consistent market positioning at the group level

Minimum Educational Level Required

Bachelor's Degree

Languages Required

English and Khmer (fluent),
Chinese
and other European (French) or north-Asian languages

Other Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • 6 years of experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area.
  • Exhibiting behavioral styles that foster driven attitude in the sales and marketing team;
  • Driven, problem solving and decision making, strong public relation
  • Able to build, lead and train a sales team
  • Communication and media, internet, social media, newspaper
  • Understanding and utilizing business information (guest satisfaction, financial performance, employee engagement) 
  • Evaluates market conditions and proposes adapted strategies, manages team to mitigate down cycles
