Financial Controller

Summary of Position

The Royal Sands is a new all-villa resort comprised of 67 units and located on the untouched island of Koh Rong. Scheduled to open Mid 2017, the property boasts a wide range of facilities and services for guests to enjoy from this intimate island destination. Currently, we are looking for Financial ControllerThe Financial Controller is responsible for the financial and fiscal management aspects of company operations. The Controller provides leadership and coordination in the financial reporting, accounting, development accounting, accounts payable, administrative and budgeting throughout the companies, as well as direct oversight of the Accounts Payable Team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership
  • Assist with evaluating and implementing business and operational goals, projects, policies/programs, and systems
  • Providing support of planning initiatives through financial analyses, reports, and recommendations
  • Preparing financial reports and analyses to monitor cash flows and cash balances
  • Assembling and preparing data on key metrics
  • Maintaining financial statement compliance
  • Reviewing financial statements on a monthly basis
  • Establishing and maintaining all cash management, credit card processing and guest check approval systems
  • Analyzing cash flow, cost controls, and expenses
  • Overseeing the accounts payable function to ensure that all bills are paid timely and accurately and ensuring that invoices have been coded to proper general ledger accounts
  • Overseeing the credit and collections function 
  • Helping to maintain team member benefit programs
  • Hiring, training and organizing accounts payable team members
  • Assisting in obtaining the necessary licenses and insurance at all new and existing properties
  • Leading the annual budgeting process for all managed property locations, providing effective communication and coordination between hotel managers, operations, and accounting
  • Upon implementation, monitoring budget performance and assisting the team in identifying, interpreting, and resolving any unusual variances

Other Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Graduate in Accounting
  • 5 to 6 years demonstrated accounting experience, preferably in a hotel hospitality or food and beverage environment and quality with a background that includes forecasting and budgeting
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with strong accounting software experience. Proficiency with MS Office (Excel / Word) and experience with PMS like Opera, Room master, Protel, Visual One, Delphi, Sun Finance, Oracle Finance, SAP etc
