Financial Controller

Summary of Position

Unisun believes that managing costs and revenues is crucial to the management of operations through corporate compliance and communication of financial information to the relevant parties. To that end, accounting and finance play a crucial role in our company to help us evaluate the overall performance of the company towards its goals and objectives.

The Financial Controller is responsible for the management of financial data related to a development and construction project including revenue, costs, margin, profit and cashflow. For that he/she monitor and control data associated to one or several company's projects and analyze the variances and the impact on the project’s margin. He/She also advise on financial reports for other departments as well as reviewing, analyzing and interpreting financial reports.

Beyond the day-to-day, she/he will contribute to longer-term improvements project, process improvement and the documentation efforts that will help Unisun reach new heights.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and provide long term solutions to improve project management
  • Review contractual agreements, and provide feedback Finance guidance to ensure adequate process design and agreement structures.
  • Update the costs and costs forecasts on a regular basis
  • Analyze discrepancies by work package between Budget and Actuals and provide analysis on the project’s margin evolution.
  • Alert as soon as possible general management from significant variances on construction projects
  • Produce bi-monthly reports and follow relevant KPIs to proactively identify and manage financial risks
  • Support the planning and construction departments by working on costing for construction methods
  • Arrange for cost reports to be prepared and submitted at regular intervals including the estimated final cost of each project
  • Work closely with the accounting team as well as the project management, the construction and the procurement team to report and provide feedback on the project status
  • Contribute to longer-term development of the finance function by continuously improving process and documentation
  • Ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics

Other Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, CA/CPA, MBA/PDGM
  • Experiences: 5+Years’ experience, including 2-5 years in similar position
  • A first experience in long term management project and/or in the construction sector is preferable
  • Knowledge and experience in SAGE 300 ERP or other ERP software is a plus
  • At ease with databases and very good knowledge in Excel, PowerPoint
  • Fluent in Khmer and English

  • Strong organizational, analytical skills and critical thinking
  • Ability to compile and summarize lot of information, formulate recommendations
