Foreign Teacher

Summary of Position

STAMFORD International Academy is a private educational institution providing Khmer-English General Education Programs (from kindergarten to grade 12), and General EnglishPrograms (from absolute beginner to advanced learner).

We are looking for a Foreign Teacher with at least 2 years of teaching experience – teaching, nursery, kindergarten and primary grades.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow school curriculum and particular set of course timeline,
  • Submit and keep a weekly lesson plan,
  • Prepare lesson to suit with student learning abilities,
  • Arouse the interest of students towards the lessons,
  • Maintain students’ participation,
  • Clearly focus on school’s subject matters,
  • Design and implement supplementary activities,
  • Motivate inactive or slow learning student to be more active,
  • Use English language while teaching and working in the school,
  • Be proficient in all aspects of subjects,
  • Address individual differences of  students,
  • Diagnose learner's needs and remedy where necessary,
  • Evaluate student learning outcomes through written, oral, and practical methods,
  • Adhere to the class schedule and school policies,
  • Maintain a clean and orderly classroom,
  • Inculcate a respect for school property and facilities of students,
  • Conduct Parent-Teacher conferences,
  • Help in any school program daily or occasionally,
  • Always look after students’ security,
  • Attend technical meetings, administrative meetings, planned school events and other school activities,
  • Adopt new methodologies,
  • Create standard exams for students and,
  • Maintain an accurate Marks Record that reflects the progress and ability of every student.

Experience Required

At least 2 years of teaching experience – teaching, nursery, kindergarten and primary grades

Certification

Minimum Career Level Required

Experienced (Non-manager)

Languages Required

English

Other Requirements

  • Hold a valid teaching certificate or teaching license
  • Demonstrate teaching competency and passion to teach children
  • Has a pleasant personality and must be willing to work in a team
  • Teachers will need to assist in providing parent education, promoting parent involvement and perform a variety of duties relative to assigned area of responsibility
  • Candidates must have a degree in early childhood education or related fields
