Lead Surveying Engineer

Summary of Position

LBL International is a French‐Cambodian construction company established in Southeast Asia since 1991. The main contractor, LBL is situated at the high‐end of the construction market and specialized in the implementation of prestigious projects such as luxury hotels, exclusive villas, residential buildings, institutions, commercial buildings and educational and humanitarian buildings. Currently, we are looking for a Lead Surveying Engineer.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verify the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites
  • Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of the terrain
  • Search legal records, survey records, and land titles to obtain information about the property boundaries in areas to be surveyed
  • Prepare and maintain sketches, layouts, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed
  • Direct or conduct surveys to establish legal boundaries for properties, based on legal deeds and titles
  • Write descriptions of property boundary surveys for use in deeds, leases, or other legal documents
  • Compute geodetic measurements and interpret survey data to determine positions, shapes, and elevations of geomorphic and topographic features
  • Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in survey areas using theodolites, transits, levels, and satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS)
  • Record the results of surveys including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features
  • Coordinate findings with the work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients, and others concerned with projects
  • Train assistants and helpers, and direct their work in such activities as performing surveys or drafting maps

Languages Required

Good command of Khmer and English, both spoken and written

Other Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor Degree in civil engineering
  • Previous experience as Surveyor
  • Computer fluency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good inter-personal skills, must be able to communicate well with staff
  • Ability to interpret plans, liaise with clients, architects and project managers
  • Demonstrate innovative approaches to problem-solving and develop ideas from conceptualization to completion
  • Must have a good knowledge of available materials/products and different techniques and resources available
  • Strong team player, working effectively with all staff members at all levels
  • A positive work ethic with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work autonomously to meet deadlines
