Quality Team leader (Vietnam)

Summary of Position

A leader in sourcing, quality, production and compliance services company is looking for a Quality Team leader who plays an important role in the organization and is responsible for taking care of all quality matters in the assigned Country leading a team of Seniors Supervisors, Supervisors and Supporters. This person should have effective communication skills towards company’s Staff, suppliers and our client representatives. He/she will educate, train and share his/her knowledge and experiences within the organization. He/she will be based in Vietnam.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Team Management 40%

  • Lead a team of 2 or more Seniors Supervisors.
  • Able to motivate, stimulate and inspire his or her team-members.
  • Review the manpower allocated to all factories of his/her Country with the input of the Seniors Supervisors.
  • Lead the TQS meeting: Set-up agenda and prepare the KPI Performance by Suppliers, status of the three top defects, fail inspections and IPR’s, and status of Corrective and Preventive action plans from factories (CAP’s & PAV’s)
  • Conduct one to one meetings in weekly bases with the Seniors Supervisors to review specific issues, performance, analysis of reports, feedback etc.
  • Provide guidelines to the Seniors Supervisors how to prevent and solve quality issues.
  • Provide leadership to achieve pass on the 20%, prefinals and 100% PSI-Inspections
  • Encourage a working environment that promote personal development
  • Lead the team to follow the adherence to client’s quality standards and policies.

Preventing Problems 30%

  • Order follow up and weekly factory visit.
  • Analyze the IPR’s reports and request CAP’s to the factories when the report shows close to the 2.5% AQL limit or high concentration of defect in specific area.
  • Follow up the OVV (Order Overview) report from the Account Coordinator and review if it has included styles that has never been sewn by specific factory to take preventive actions
  • Analyze weekly the trend of defects per supplier using our PBI reporting and work with the Seniors Supervisors to set actions plans and/or preventive actions
  • Communicate with client representatives & supplier management to achieve quality standards
  • Analyze and follow up with the Senior Supervisors the internal Preventive and Corrective Actions in case of fail a 20% or 100% audit.
  • Alert and advice to the Compliance team about issues concerning Health & Safety, Environment and labor
  • Lead the three top defects reduction project in his /her Senior Supervisors

Management of the Quality process and procedures 30%

  • Conduct processes inspections affecting the Quality during factory visits: fabric Inspection, fabric Relaxation, washing test, fabric storage cutting and spreading, bonding, pad printing, heat transfer etc.
  • Prepare visits reports following action plans when deviation has been found.
  • Conduct random inspections at the end of production lines, after pressing and packaging during visits to understand critical lines and operations affecting the Quality.
  • Visit frequently critical suppliers and set meetings with the Top Management of the factory.
  • Review Chemical tests and Fitting reports: in case of comments affecting the quality request to the Senior Supervisor follow up with her/his team.
  • Analyze weekly basis the KPI per Senior Supervisor and share the report to the Regional TQS Quality Manager.
  • Request support to the TS (Technical Support) Senior Supervisor for follow up special orders, complexity of the products, new fabrics, new process.
  • Balance the work of the Senior Supervisors according to the historical data performance by supplier, new factories, special orders.
  • Report to the Regional Quality Manager the status of specific projects assigned
  • Alert to the Regional Quality Manager and Country Manager if the factory is not following client’s standard procedures, example start production before Pre-Production Meeting.
  • Ensure that the fail analysis process was conducted in case or fail the 20% or 100% psi

Experience Required

Experience working in Factories at least 8 years or More than 12 years in the Hardgoods (Furniture, Tools, Household, Accessories, Offices, Toys, Sports items, Luggages) & Apparel industry

Minimum Educational Level Required

Bachelor's Degree

Minimum Career Level Required

Experienced (Non-manager)

Languages Required

Effective communication skills in English & and local language where is located, both in speaking and in writing. Chinese as additional languages would be an advantage
