SCM Continuous Improvement Specialist

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Report to Area Continuous Improvement Manager and dotted line with Country Manager, the scope of works within entire Customer Service Department and can be extended to whole organization depended on the area’s strategy and spot assignment in term of collaboration under one Maersk
  • Interact and build a relationship with country management board to drive a lean mindset and coach lean leadership, support and consult for improvements and motivation ideas
  • Coordinate with the Automation Team to implement a new platform or automation tool for management purpose
  • Learn customer service process and operations process for insight support and driving the country’s performance
  • Maintain Lean activities and drive Lean mindset with on-going Lean tools, techniques and behaviours alive in Maersk
  • Drive the execution (timelines and value) of the continuous improvement project pipeline
  • Support, train and coach the entire Customer Service Department with LEAN tools and techniques where needed
  • Support the country management (and the various team in the country) in continuously improving the country performance at all identified levels and metrics
  • Help the country management to identify improvement initiatives that drive the overall improvement of the country
  • Share identified and implemented improvements with other countries
  • Implement identified improvement ideas from other countries
  • Implement & test suggested improvements/changes to the standard processes as defined by the global process owners
  • In case needed, also be the project manager of local improvement projects, however, this will only happen occasionally; in principle, the local teams manage the identified improvement projects supported by the Country Continuous Improvement (CI) manager
  • Introduce end-to-end process mindset into the country (by understanding how the country is performing into the entire Maersk network; how the country impacts other country’s performance)
  • Ensure that changes/updates/ improvements to the initial training material are effectively cascaded through the entire country

Minimum Educational Level Required

Bachelor's Degree

Minimum Career Level Required

Experienced (Non-manager)

Other Requirements

  • Lean / Sigma, Process knowledge is a pre-requisite & experience of having worked in the Operations office is beneficial
  • Experience in leading people & driving change management
  • Training and Coaching experience
  • Easy approachable and willing to invest in others
  • Proven track record in a matrix, multi-cultural organization, building strong relationships and networks both locally and internationally
