Social and Health Manager

Summary of Position

A NGO in Cambodia is looking for a Social and Health Manager who will be responsible for all the organization of the health and social activities, in accordance with the guidelines and objectives under the responsibility of the executive deputy operational director, ensures that team receives the correct information, controls their work, and builds work programs together with his team members, and also leads actions that will help improve the integration into the local community. He/ She will be based in Phnom Penh.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

SOCIAL

  • Follow up and analyze the family visit reports prepared by the social workers. Identify the families with problems and organized close monitoring
  • Supervise the organization of the new student recruitment session and ensure all data requested from each family has been received and processed
  • Supervise the organization of the food distributions
  • Plan and organize occasional field visits
  • Conduct investigations when difficult situations are brought to attention
  • Prepare action plans for specific projects
  • Follow up difficult cases with social workers and psychologists.

 

HEALTH

With the dispensary supervisor

  • Follow up on curative and preventive health actions
  • Organize procurement for medicines and vaccines
  • Organize the teams’ work

 

SEXUAL EDUCATION

  • Follow the teacher's curriculum.
  • Ensure that their teaching methods are adequate

 

INTERNAL RELATIONS

  • Follow up the cases of absence with the educational department and more particularly with the school life and the Vocational Training Centre teams
  • Follow up students studying in Phnom Penh or elsewhere with the Career Guidance Department
  • Follow up on cases or incidents reported by the teaching staff or any staff member

 

EXTERNAL RELATIONS

  • Participate in ministry meetings to ensure a good relationship
  • Establish good relations with local authorities and villagers to promote the integration of NGO into the community
  • Build trust with students and families, work with respect and make sure confidentiality is maintained
  • Motivate families and make sure they understand the importance of education for their daughters

 

TEAM MANAGEMENT

  • Evaluate and improve the skills of team members
  • Conduct an annual evaluation interview

 

GENERAL

  • Check the data entered on the database by the whole team
  • Prepare and monitor budgets of the various programs

 

OTHER

  • Take part in school events, workshops, trainings, outings and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
  • Respect school rules and regulations
  • Attend management meetings
  • Liaise with all colleagues and work flexibly

Reporting to

  • Prepare weekly / monthly reports to be sent to the management:
  • Children with medical problems,  mental problems and family problems
  • Make an inventory and follow up of difficult cases
  • Guarantee internal communication between the two services (Social and Health) by organizing weekly meetings with all the people working in these departments
  • Prepare weekly report of team meetings.

Experience Required

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar environment

Minimum Educational Level Required

Master's Degree

Minimum Career Level Required

Experienced (Non-manager)

Languages Required

Excellent command of Khmer and English essential, French is a plus
