Technical Designer
Summary of Position
Cocovol Apparel (Cambodia) Inc. is a premier full service wholesaler and manufacturer of women’s and children’s knit and woven apparel offering our customer the convenience of one stop shopping. Our offices in New York, Los Angeles, China, Korea and Cambodia are fully staffed to support the needs of our clients beginning with design research and product development as well as fabric, print and trim sourcing and strict quality assurance. The process is expertly monitored every step of the way.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate all production fit sample garment for quality, lead fit sessions, and make recommendations for pattern adjustment through a diagram
- Review fit comments for alterations
- Ensure specifications as per buyer requirements are being followed accordingly
- Confirm all sewing constructions are applicable to bulk without changing the design
- Develop and manage the technical specification packages for apparel prototypes
- Accountable for all pre-production sample’s such as Fit/PP/TOP/(AD advertising sample)
- Inspection of marking, consumption and cost
- Confer all issues and concerns to sales, buyers and designers
- Attend fit sessions on live model
- Conduct fittings on live models to determine fit corrections based on New York and Company brand standards
- Determine corrections to achieve fit and document in the technical package incorporating technical fit sketches, garment construction details, grading, labeling requirements, and ticket placement
- Create development tech packs and production garments
- Development of initial sample specifications from original samples and/or design sketch. Establish close partnership with Design in order to facilitate the interpretation of Design concepts
- Interact with Merchants and Production Team on daily and weekly basis to manage the sample approval status in order to maintain company time/action calendars
