Training & Development Manager

Summary of Position

Shinta Mani Angkor, an upscale boutique property created by acclaimed architect Bill Bensley, showcases 39 contemporary designed rooms and public spaces in a Khmer inspired design. This exceptional Angkor hotel enjoys a tranquil and leafy setting within the French Quarter of Siem Reap.

Shinta Mani Angkor is looking for Training & Development Manager.The Training & Development Manager is responsible for improving the productivity of the organization’s employees. This position assesses property-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arrange suitable training solutions for employees. This position actively searches, creatively designs and implements methods to educate, enhance employee’s skills, performance, productivity and quality of work.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts annual training and development needs assessment
  • Proposes training and development programs and objectives
  • Identifies and assesses future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisal and consultation with line manager
  • Draws an overall or individual training and development plan that addresses needs and expectations
  • Deploys a variety of training methods
  • Conduct effective orientation for all new  hires on DONE! and manager their progress
  • Provides opportunities for ongoing development
  • Resolve any specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary
  • Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices
  • Develops and monitors spending against the departmental budget
  • Obtains and/or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media
  • Trains and coaches manager, supervisors, and others involved in employee development efforts
  • Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for employee’s development and training events
  • Develops and maintain organizational communications such as bulletin boards and newsletter to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources
  • Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results
  • Modifies programs as needed
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization
  • Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR staff
  • Builds solid cross-functional relationship
  • Assist with the development of strategic plans
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Human Resources Manager

Reporting to

The Human Resources Manager

Experience Required

- Proven work experience as a training manager
- Track record in designing and executing successful training programs
- Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on the job or classroom training, e-learning, workshop etc.)
- Five years of experience in teaching and training

Minimum Educational Level Required

Bachelor's Degree

Minimum Career Level Required

Manager (Staff supervisor,...)

Other Requirements

  • Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training manuals. Good computer and database skills
  • Business acumen, communication and consultation
  • Basic knowledge of labour law and HR expertise
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
