Senior Account Manager (Sales)

Maersk: currently, we are looking for a candidate in the position Senior Account Manager (Sales). The Senior Account Manager contributes to the success and growth of the business through driving sustainable growth in market share, sales volumes, revenue and profitability. The role holder is required to develop compelling sales strategies, ensure multi-functional alignment to customers' needs, develop and maintain close relationships with customers, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, develop the sales team, communicate changes to customers, and stay on top of the business trends. The incumbent is expected to achieve the above objectives and outcomes in accordance with the core values and winning behaviours espoused by Maersk.

  • Creates, articulates and drives sales strategies, objectives and activities for different customer segments to achieve market share growth, sales volume, revenue and profitability
  • Develops and maintains relationships with new and existing customers or account portfolios to truly understand their business needs and provides effective solutions accordingly
  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams (Customer Service, Product, Delivery, and Vendor Management) to drive revenue growth, customer retention and customer satisfaction to achieve the assigned sales, volume and financial targets for assigned account (s)/client(s)
  • Makes and/or attends joint sales calls with sales team members to understand customer needs, identify business opportunities, generate a healthy pipeline, and hunts for potential customers
  • Build, develop, and coach the sales team members to achieve confidence, capability and engagement to perform well in their roles
  • Communicates significant trends, rate changes and policies to assigned accounts so that customers are well-informed
  • Ensures sales systems or customer relationship management tools are updated on time and are of excellent quality so that insightful analysis can be drawn for quality decisions and high-impact action plans; and
  • Researches and analyzes competitive and industry trends, business environments, and rules and regulations that may impact the business

  • At least a Diploma/ Bachelor’s Degree in logistics management, supply chain management, business administration, international trade or business, economics, management, or any related field
  • Very good knowledge about logistics, supply chain management and shipping businesses
  • At least 5 years of sales experience, preferably in logistics and supply chain industry
  • Proven track records of driving sales growth and profitability
  • Proven experience in managing key accounts or customer portfolios
  • Proven abilities to develop and maintain close relationships with customers
  • Proven capabilities in managing, coaching and leading sales team
  • Demonstrated strong influencing, convincing and negotiating skills
  • Demonstrated good research and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated strong planning and executing skills
  • Demonstrated good problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated abilities to communicate with impact with customers and stakeholders; and
  • Demonstrated abilities to communicate fluently both in English and Chinese
  • Demonstrated abilities to use Microsoft Office Application
  • Demonstrated abilities to use sales or CRM systems
