Airline Route Development Manager
Summary of Position
An aviation industry is looking for an Airline Route Development Manager. The Airline Route Development Manager will be in charge of developing and implementing market strategies to support the retention and acquisition of air services. Works directly with planning, scheduling and marketing representatives of domestic and international airlines, professional airport organizations, government representatives and business leaders. Developing and executing the organization’s strategic objectives, improving and expanding air service. Monitoring the aircraft fleet mix and frequency of airline operations aviation issues; global air carrier alliances and regulations impacting air carrier services; performs fundamental statistical analysis of air service data sources. He/she will be based in Phnom Penh.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages the air service development functions of the airports, airline
- Performs air service schedule monitoring and limits market analysis; engages contractors to assist in analytical case studies as necessary
- Promotes airport and route opportunities with air domestic and international carriers
- Educates airport’s stakeholders about positive economic impact to region
- Conceives, gains approval of and supervises execution of long and short term air service development plans
- Gathers data from airlines, passengers and others concerning the potential local air routing needs and makes projections concerning passenger traffic and operational issues and trends
- Identifies opportunities for passenger services to expand existing service
- Develops and implements marketing plans to target potential business for the airports serves as primary liaison between the airport and representatives of airlines, representatives of the business community, and others to determine their needs, identify opportunities to enhance service, and review proposals
- Works with aviation consultants to prepare presentations for potential domestic and international passenger service
- Communicates airport needs and oversees design and publication of business cases used in recruitment efforts

- Knowledge of the airline industry operations and economics
- Knowledge of principles and practices of market research and trade analysis
- Develops and manages organized and up-to-date computer databases
- Prepares clear, concise correspondence and written reports from market research data using good business vocabulary and proper grammar and construction
- Uses and links different software packages necessary to prepare reports and promotional material
- Works in a team environment
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships, both inside and outside the organization
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and writing
- Travel as necessary both domestically and internationally
