Communication and Fund-Raising Director

Summary of Position

Our client is a non-profit organization in Cambodia. They are looking for a Communication and Fund-Raising Director who will be responsible to communicate and promote the programs and its achievements to ensure their profile raise both internal and external audiences. She/he will support fundraising and develop Fund raising in Asia.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • She/he will manage the Communication team
  • She/he will manage Communication & fundraising department with regards to budget
  • The position requires constant initiative and innovation to explore new ways and methods in communicating works and best practices and children issues to the larger audience and at the same time review and analyze risks associated with all communication materials.
  • This person will communicate to both internal and external clients to do his/her job.
  • This person will have to manage the communication tasks in Communication Department and coordinate with the head office in France and all directors in Cambodia on a weekly basis and other staff in the organisation to ensure all staff got updated with current situation.
  • She/he will communicate to donors, companies, some Antennas (group of volunteers), media, external visitors, representative bodies etc.
  • Cooperate with the head office in France to develop communication lines & strategy, policy and guideline to ensure the reputation, professional image and branding is promoted widely to the internal and external audiences to maximize visibility and image of the organisation. Adapt if needed and implement them in Cambodia and APAC.
  • Ensure development and provide quality contents for both the organizations in France and Cambodia (articles, reports, interviews, photos, videos….
  • Develop communication materials, including annual review, newsletter, speech, press release, social media, etc.) ensuring quality, compliance to the organisations policy and delivering in a timely manner. In charge of the website to adapt its English version to Cambodia and APAC “markets”.
  • Choose, monitor, regulate communication channels and social media coverage in Cambodia, in coordination with ITS headquarters in France.
  • Educate the staff and department on how to use Social Media in ad equation to Communication policies and branding.
  • Manage any PR/media/press releases or conferences to ensure reputation and branding are respected
  • Coordinate and host visitors, VIP donors/sponsors, media, and ministry visits to ensure smooth coordination and get positive feedback from visitors
  • Manage communication panels inside the center
  • Contribute internal events with the relevant department in terms of organization and message delivered (Annual staff meeting, Khmer new year …)
  • Formulate/develop effective partnership and marketing strategies to promote the organization’s profile that provide opportunities for fundraising locally (Cambodia), In Asia Pacific (Hong-Kong, Singapore, Australia).
  • Development relation with local and foreign Companies in Cambodia and APAC.
  • Develop relationship and be the interface with different Representatives bodies
  • (CCI, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Clubs….. )
  • Organize activities/events in Cambodia and APAC, build reputation and Visibility toward its partners.
  • Work in cooperation and Support to project department and provide funding opportunities
  • Manage direct reports, department’s budget 
  • Ensure direct report’s work performance and behavior at least meets the expectations

Other Requirements

  • Master’s degree in public relation/media or related field like Communications, Journalism, Media relations or relevant field
  • At least 7 years’ experience in communications, media relations, journalism or marketing
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment
  • Excellent written Khmer/English and spoken French
  • Outstanding communications skills
  • Knowledge of PR, media, information and communications and how it relates to development issues
  • Knowledge related to printing, media relations, audio/video production, website, IEC materials
  • Knowledge about development in general and understanding of children’s rights in particular
  • BA in Business administration or related
  • With at least 5-10 years’ experience in Retail Operation and work with global company.
  • Ability to work accurately and methodically. Skill in Oracle/ SAP/Quick book and inventory control.
