Credit Underwriting Manager

Summary of Position

Bright Victory Mekong Petroleum Import - Export Co., Ltd (BVM) is a petroleum importer operating in Cambodia since 2008 by providing quality gasoil and gasoline nationwide. We are looking for a Credit Underwriting Manager who will be based in Head Office to support and grow our business. It is expected to be filled as soon as possible.

Currently, we are looking for a Credit Underwriting Manager.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handle daily credit (credit application, excess, and overdue, and delay payment) underwriting process to ensure good credit quality and compliance and timely delivery, This includes making informed credit decision within assigned approval discretion, preparing, reviewing, submitting and providing recommendations on credit proposals exceeding own approval discretion.
  • Approve credit application, excess, and arrears/overdue, and delay payment under authorization.
  • Credit check and verify on credit proposal document after received from sale representative and submit for approval, and conduct credit assessment at the field when necessary or required
  • Conduct credit quality sampling check on credit approved by sales supervisor approval discretion
  • Analyze and understand the root causes of account receivable delay payment in respective operational locations and provide reports with a recommendation to management
  • Properly implement the related credit quality assurance findings responses, and assist the sales supervisor in providing necessary support to related peers and colleagues
  • Provide capacity building (including training, coaching, mentoring, feedback, etc.) to sales and relevant team on credit policy and procedure
  • Conduct feasibility market/demand studies on credit customer in the respective area, collect, update and analyze required information relating to key competitors, and clients’ feedback
  • Conduct monthly reporting under supervision such as customer credit request, customer credit approval, customer rejection, and customer drop out, etc. reporting to management

Other Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Banking, Management, Accounting or other relevant equivalences
  • Minimum 3 years experiences in credit assessment, loan acquisition, structuring, monitoring and/or other related functions with financial institution including bank and/or MFI
  • Must have good analytical skills both quantitatively and qualitatively.
  • Honesty, positive attitude, ability to think creatively and excellent interpersonal skills (team building, presentations, and public speaking, facilitation, and consensus-building)
  • Good interpersonal, communication, staff supervision, training and conflict resolution skills
  • Good working proficiency of English
  • Demonstrate a high level of commitment and trustworthiness
  • Willing to travel to and/or reside in BVM’s operational areas in province/district
  • Computer literacy of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Publisher, and Power BI
