Education Program Manager

Summary of Position

About 40K PLUS

40K PLUS creates access to quality learning for children in restricted environments.

We have developed a proprietary technology system that allows us to push content into villages through tablets, and pull data back, all offline.​ Currently, the flagship program uses the system to teach English to primary-aged government school children in India and Cambodia.

The Role

You are responsible for ensuring high quality delivery of the 40K PLUS program in Cambodia through different channels, including provincial government schools and partner organisations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Program delivery – Designing, experimentation, implementation

  • Defining the program controls, i.e., the processes, budget, procedures, reporting, etc., to ensure efficient program delivery
  • Program planning and monitoring of progress to make sure that milestones are being met, including planning for risks/issues that might arise over the course of the program delivery lifecycle
  • Gaining an in depth understanding of the learning progress of students, using classroom observations, quantitative/qualitative data collection, and reporting key insights that can drive better learning and engagement
  • Identifying areas of improvement, proposing and implementing cost-effective, scalable solutions, designed through a process of continuous iteration and validation
  • Collaborating with the Government stakeholders, to drive program improvement
  • Developing insights into how different stakeholders (children, teachers, parents and other vested parties) seek value and implementing a system of communication, feedback and reporting to ensure stakeholder buy-in

Training and ongoing coaching

  • Designing effective, replicable, training and capacity building programs, in collaboration with the customer, to deliver maximum value
  • Leveraging existing delivery partners to build a multi-tier support and coaching ecosystem with a view to developing a scalable approach to facilitator management & quality learning delivery
  • Ensuring that all facilitators can deliver quality learning outcomes for their students
  • Setting up processes for identifying, recognizing and sharing best practices within the customer and user community
  • Ensuring students’ success, which translates to
  • Highly engaged students with no dropouts and a high NPS
  • Accelerated learning progress for all students on the program
  • Key insights captured on a monthly basis that drives better student learning and engagement metrics

R&D, monitoring & process improvements

  • Ensuring all students in the program are improving
  • Identifying students requiring learning interventions and ensuring the implementation of these interventions
  • Creating a system for continuous improvement by setting up channels for receiving and incorporating feedback from delivery partners
  • Monitoring facilitator progress and intervening when required to help them succeed
  • R&D to identify a model that is sustainable and can be replicated across other channels, sustainability being defined by:
    • The cost per child per unit
    • Retention and renewal %
    • % students achieving target learning outcomes

Mentoring & people management

  • Providing mentoring and guidance to team members to help them succeed at their roles
  • Creating and implementing a regular review and feedback system for team members

Experience Required

Bachelor's Degree

Experienced (Non-manager)

Languages Required

Khmer, English

Other Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in Teaching, Education management, EdTech, with experience working in restricted/rural environments
  • At least 2 years’ teaching and/or teacher training experience. Experience in English as a Foreign Language or English as a Second Language strong preferred
  • Post Graduate degree in any discipline
  • Strong analytical, observation and problem-solving skills, with an ability to evaluate, prioritise and organize information
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
