Head of Technical Support and Training

Summary of Position

Our client is an automotive servicing company in Cambodia. They are looking for a Head of Technical Support and Training who will support the Technical Support, Training & Quality Control and to ensure services/products delivery meet quality and efficiency standards set by the company. He/she will be based in Phnom Penh.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Technical Support

  • Design & conduct customized training programs using combination of theory & hands-on training and introduce continuous improvement in the same
  • Equip students with the necessary knowledge to manufacture vehicles, diagnose & repair real automotive problems
  • Utilize a variety of the training methodologies, techniques, concepts, learning tools, and practices to ensure maximum effectiveness of training programs
  • Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices
  • Create and maintain a positive and professional interactive learning environment
  • Integrate learning from customers, competitors, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to continuously improve program quality
  • Implements and evaluates standardized instructional practices

Technical Training

  • Assess training needs and develop technical training courses for all levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced)
  • Ensure all new hires undergo basic technical training (e.g. on computer setup and security guidelines)
  • Schedule in-house educational sessions using e-learning platforms
  • Measure improvements in employees’ job performance at the end of each course
  • Gather feedback from trainees and instructors and recommend suggestions to the learning process
  • Deploy training to targeted personnel
  • Prepare training material and classroom agenda
  • Design computer-based and multimedia curriculum
  • Continuously enhance technical instructional delivery and presentation skills
  • Mentor other instructors in the subject matter, content, and course delivery techniques for assigned technical courses
  • Test process with different subjects
  • Manage the training program in accordance with business needs, regulatory requirements, and Quality Management System

Quality Control

  • Determine, negotiate and agree on in-house quality procedures, standards and specifications
  • Assess customer requirements and ensure that these are met
  • Specify and set customers service standards
  • Ensure that all garage operation processes comply with standards at both national and international level
  • Act as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance and quality
  • Direct objectives to maximize profitability
  • Record, analyze and distribute statistical information, technical reports, customer charter
  • Perform other ad hoc tasks as required by Management

Reporting to

  • Chief Operations Officer

Other Requirements

  • At least a Bachelor degree in automotive engineering or related fields
  • Able to speak and write in khmer and English
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • 5-7 years of experience in designing and implementing employee development programs
  • Has strong strategic thinking, problem solving, team work, coaching and mentoring skills
