Hub coordinators (1 Senior Hub Coordinator and 1 Junior Hub Coordinator)

Summary of Position

COMPED: We are currently looking for The Hub Coordinators who will be mainly based Siem Reap with travels within the municipality and to Phnom Penh.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend training on an app: the hub coordinators are required to attend the training(s) on how to install and use the app developed.
  • Help waste collection service provider to install and learn the app: the hub coordinators will closely work with app development team to support waste collection company, specifically Gaea, in Siem Reap to install the app and train them on how to use it.
  • Recruit and manage Voice Ambassadors (VAs): the hub coordinators will support COMPED in VAs recruitment and provide time to time support and management to VAs.
  • Promote the​​ app to community members:  the hub coordinators will work with VAs to support the targeted households in Siem Reap Municipality to download and use the app to increase its uptake.
  • Conduct bi-weekly observational data collection: the hub coordinators will need to collect bi-weekly observational surveys within the selected areas by taking photos and filling in the survey forms for DevLab@Duke University. The hub coordinators will follow-up and monitor areas that fall within their coverage and record if the identified problem areas have been addressed/cleaned.
  • Collect administrative data: the hub coordinators need to collect administrative data from municipal authorities and provide the reports to COMPED.
  • Support informational campaign development: the hub coordinators will liaise COMPED to develop materials for informational campaigns on the health effects of waste, how to properly dispose of waste and its benefits, the municipality’s role in waste management, the service provider’s role in waste collection, how to download and use the app, and collective actions in terms of service fee payment, disposal, and community monitoring.
  • Support COMPED to hold informational campaigns: the hub coordinators will assist COMPED to conduct informational campaigns. The information will be provided in different ways such as community meetings and physical posting in communal areas.
  • Manage receptacle distribution: the hub coordinators will work with voice ambassadors to identify appropriate locations and distribute receptacles to targeted households/community.
  • Support Survey Teams: the hub coordinators will support the survey teams by coordinating with local authorities and facilitating participation of randomly selected households within in the interviews or other meetings requested by the contracted survey teams.
  • Attend meetings when required: the hub coordinators shall the attend the meetings with the municipalities and relevant stakeholders when required.
  • Report to COMPED: the hub coordinators will report to COMPED Head Quarter.
  • Provide other supports needed by COMPED/TAF.

  • General knowledge survey software and usage of a tablet
  • General knowledge of location services, maps, and other common Android/iOS libraries
  • Experience in community mobilization
  • Experience in community outreach/training
  • Experience in data collection
  • Computer skills such as MS Word, Excel, Power Point and internet (website)

Personal Qualities:

  • Ability to work independently and as a team once instruction has been provided
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
  • Willing to travel
  • Good interpersonal attitude
  • Good and respectful written and verbal communication
  • Ability to deliver expected outputs in a timely manner without compromising the quality
