Kindergarten Elementary School, Student Support Service Coordinator

Summary of Position

Our client is a well-known international school in Cambodia. They are looking for a KES Student Support Services Coordinator who will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operation of student support services. He/ She will be based in Phnom Penh.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Mentor and support all SSST members
  • Collaborate with teachers and the SSST to ensure all referrals are followed up and research based interventions are provided as needed
  • Ensure clear documentation for student support referrals and services provided in student database, including Individualized Learning Plans (ILP)
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with Principals, Curriculum Coordinator and School Director
  • Develop policies and processes to institutionalize student support services at the KES level
  • Advise the principals, school director and BoD in recommending improvements to the student support services
  • Understand and ensure the effective implementation of schoolwide literacy programs through strong collaboration with teachers, learning mentors, literacy specialist, and the library team
  • Facilitate and monitor meetings with the SSST
  • Ensure health services maintain clear records of student visitations and that trends are identified, which may need to follow up with support services or contacting parents (schoolwide)
  • Create successful partnerships with the community to establish a culture of child protection and support services
  • Collaborate with KES librarian to promote literacy activities and competitions
  • Collaborate with the Communications Specialist to include the Parents as Partners Association in decision-making process
  • With the KES co-coordinate MAP testing and data collection biannually and identify trends
  • Collaborate with the KES LSP Coordinator to ensure modifications are made to the units of study
  • Collaborate with the KES LSP Coordinator for entrance/exit of students to/from LSP
  • Provide support and engage parents and teachers in individualized support programs
  • Attend meetings called for by the school level principals, curriculum coordinator or school director
  • Promote innovative and creative strategies for enhancing student support services
  • Act as school liaison with all stakeholders in matters specific to the Student Support Services department
  • Complete reports and surveys relevant to the Student Support Services department

Other Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Early Childhood, Elementary and/or Special Education
  • an educational professional with management experience, ideally specialized in developing and implementing educational  support programs
  • strong commitment to the school’s beliefs about education and the learning process
  • strong  organizational skills with attention to details
  • strong communication, facilitation, and consensus building skills
  • Native-English speaking
