Midwives / Nurses (many positions) - Full time

Summary of Position

The Public Health and Epidemiology Unit of Institut Pasteur in Cambodia is conducting in collaboration with Institut Pasteur in Paris a prospective cohort study of pregnant women and newborns in two locations in Cambodia: Kampong Speu province and Phnom Penh. The objective of this study is to estimate the incidence of bacterial infections and resistance to antibiotics in neonates, infants and young children.

Institut Pasteur du Cambodge is therefore recruiting several full time midwives or nurses to work as Study Monitors for the ChARLI Cambodia project. The contracts are for 9 months renewable.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Under the responsibility of the ChARLI coordinating team in Cambodia, the Study monitors will:
  • Implement the research activites as they are defined in the Study protocol approved by the National Ethics Committee for Health Research, (including performing clinical exams of newborns and collecting data and biological samples from mothers and newborns)
  • Work closely with the ChARLI team and the national medical doctors, midwives, nurses and laboratory technicians involved in the project
  • Be involved in other duties as needed

Some of these positions are based in Phnom Penh. Others are based in Kampong Speu.

Minimum Career Level Required

Experienced (Non-manager)

Languages Required

Able to communicate in English or French

Other Requirements

  • Diploma in midwifery or nursing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work both independently & as a member of a team
  • Genuine interest and commitment to the Good Clinical Practices for health research
  • Computer literacy: Excel, Word, Power Point
