Translator

Summary of Position

Our client is a private equity investment manager focused on the Greater Mekong Sub-Region. They are seeking a Translator (Khmer-English-Chinese), who will be responsible for translation and interpretation on various activities and perform other admin tasks. He/she will be based in Phnom Penh.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, English and Khmer as he/she needs to translate documents, emails, conference calls, presentations and memos etc
  • Attend meetings with the CEO and team members as needed
  • Organize translated material and finalize translation according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
  • Simultaneous/consecutive interpretation at various meetings, convention, various seminars, conference etc
  • Occasionally working overtime is needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • CEO

Languages Required

Khmer, English, Chinese

Other Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or other qualification in English/Chinese/Khmer literature or related fields
  • Fluency in Khmer, Chinese, and English is required
  • Professional translation work is a plus
  • Carry out other tasks, including translation, as requested
  • Ability to translate complex technical words and documents
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and able to handle complex and confidential information with discretion
  • Patient, hard-working, attentive, reliable, determined and resourceful
  • Good computer literacy essential (MS Word/Excel, etc.)
