Senior Intermodal Executive
Summary of Position
Maersk: Senior Intermodal Executive role is to drive and manage all physical activities under the scope of Intermodal and all Customs House related. The incumbent needs to work closely with Customs House Brokerage Specialist, customs officers, Intermodal team, local products; Legal and compliance on the desire expectation on cost optimization and process excellence; business compliance and reliable service to enhance customer’s satisfaction.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintaining relationships with key CHB (Custom House Brokerages/Clearance Service) providers to procure best value propositions for, Customs clearance for land/sea/air import and export shipments, Clearance Documents requirements e.g. Certificate of Origin, import certificate, Import permit, export permit etc
- Providing high service response (trucking and clearance and/or other value-added services) to customers
- Managing customer requirements and expectations
- Addressing customer’s complaints on a responsive and open-minded attitude
- Working with the team to initiate and develop range of services on top of the existing products- CHB and transportation
- Be able to work overtime, be reachable via phone outside working hours/weekend/holidays
- Proactive and flexible in term of communication and following up
- Developing necessary reports and working files to better manage daily tasks/operations
- Supporting Product/Procurement and Commercial team in attracting and winning new businesses
- Delivering departmental Key Performance indicators
- Carrying out ad-hoc tasks as assigned by Leader or Manager
- Driving and Initiating problem solving with a high customer centric mind-set

General
- The candidate who has an outgoing and convincing personality. A person with a sense of urgency and result orientation with the driven and initiating the improvement; process excellent to create a winning team. A kind of person who has a very high patient and adaptable under a high-pressure situation
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
- Strong experiences from relevant industry (Logistic, transportation, shipping…).
- Strong experiences from customs house brokerage process, customs tariff, documents processing, regulation, rules
- Strong knowledge in Inco-Term understanding, CIF, FOB, DAP, DDU etc….
- C-TPAT compliance and 5s understanding
- Good at KPIs managing and developing
- Qualified Customs House Brokerage License is preferable
- Be able to engage teams from different working sites ensuring they work in a collaborative manner to achieve common objectives
- Good Interpersonal skill and Be customer (internal and external) oriented with strong follow up skills
- Good computer literacy, especially Microsoft Excel
- Languages:
- The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment
- English proficiency
- Chinese is a plus
Others:
- Passionate in driving continuous development; work with creative and innovative mindset
- Operational background including supply chain operations, ocean, air and local origin services (trucking, customs, and milestone visibility)
- Proven ability to be able to work pressure and strong ownership
- Ambitious and result oriented, self-starter with initiative and strong drive
- Possess excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, time management and root cause problem solving (RCPS) and presentation skills
- Computer literacy
- Network/contacts within the international/local logistics industry/ local authorities
- Undergraduate degree minimum
