Compliance Manager

One of the leading garment international company specialized in apparel sectors that offers proven expertise in Cambodia is looking for a Compliance Manager.

The Compliance Manager will be in charge of ensuring the Company’s legal documentation, adherence to legal requirements, working conditions and health & safety standards meet the requirements of the buyer. He/she will ensure all safety equipment is kept in good working condition among other duties and responsibilities.

At least 5 years experience working with Compliance, Health & Safety or Human Resources within the garment/textile industry.

Good to excellent English communication skills.

  • To ensure the Company’s legal documentation, adherence to legal requirements, working conditions and health & safety standards meet the requirements of the buyer
  • To ensure all safety equipment is kept in good working condition
  • Conduct monthly general health & safety audit; prepare Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) for relevant departments and ensure implementation and completion within two-weeks period of each issue
  • Carry out regular annual internal Ethical Compliance audits – for the factory management
  • Set up and maintain Health & Safety checklists for Fire Extinguishers, Fire hose reels, First Aid Kits, Fire Alarms, Exit & Emergency lighting and signage, smoke detectors
  • Carry out monthly check on overtime being worked
  • Ensure all employee files are in order with correct documents etc
  • Set up and maintain Health & Safety checklists for factory machinery and follow up on all regular inspections of same, working with relevant Department Heads
  • Key Member of Health & Safety Committee – and responsible for taking minutes and distributing to all
  • Set up and maintain Fire Drill procedure; update list of Wardens; participate and/or arrange Fire Fighting Training, update and organise further training as required; set date of regular Fire Drills; liaise with local Fire department/ Authority; work with relevant authority regarding fire fighting equipment inspection
  • Communicate with all Department Heads, Production Managers, and Production Supervisors etc on best practices for Health & Safety and Compliance issues
  • Aspire to attain 100% zero non-compliance issues within whole factory site
  • Work with 3rd party auditors on Social & Ethical Compliance and other audits as required
  • Administer and manage the Sedex Globle site for the Client, updating as and when necessary
  • Ensure that any work accidents are communicated by the clinic directly to the Compliance Officer – work accidents to employees can be either in or outside factory site; write up Accident Investigation Reports; liaise with In-house Doctor on CAP or preventive action and health programmes for employees
  • Update Snr Human Resource / Admin & Human Resource Manager on any government notifications regarding Health & Safety and compliance matters; translate any relevant documents from Khmer to English
  • Cooperate with Human Resource Manager and/or Recruitment Officer with Induction Presentations for New Starters
  • Assist Recruitment team in identifying any forged or false documentation provided by applicants
  • Carry out random checks of Employee Files in Human Resource Department in order to confirm proper documentation being provided by employees
  • Assist Human Resource Manager at Workers’ Committee meetings and follow up with resolutions
  • Any other tasks, duties assigned by Senior Human Resource / Admin

  • Able to work on own initiative, under pressure and to deadlines
  • Able to travel in the region
