Country Head


Our client creates access to quality learning for children in restricted environment. They teach English through technology in government school. Currently, they are seeking one Country Head who will be in charge of Business Development, Operation Management, legal compliance and also communication with client.


Leadership and Stakeholder management

As the leader of the Cambodian entity, you will be a part of the senior leadership team, which will require you to:

  • Influence and contribute to conversations around organisational strategy, particularly in relation to Cambodia
  • Be accountable to, and communicate with, the rest of the senior leadership team to ensure organisational outcomes are being achieved
  • Represent the Cambodian office in conversations with the Board of Directors (as necessary)
  • Influence external communications to international stakeholders and partners, particularly in relation to Cambodia

Business Development and Relationship Management

  • Secure enterprise, NGO and government partnerships, to expand the reach of English program in provincial Cambodia
  • Manage high-level relationships with existing customers and partners, to drive renewals and referrals
  • Ensure key accounts achieve a high social profit; delivering both financial profit and positive social impact
  • Monitor and drive the sales effort in keeping with the MoU with the government
  • Leverage market research insights and personal experience to build and execute a growth roadmap for the company in Cambodia.
  • Build the company’s brand presence and networks in Cambodia, representing at key events
  • Explore new products, markets and channels that can expand the company’s impact and/or increase organisation’s profitability

Program and Operations Management

  • Hire, mentor and coach key program staff
  • Oversee the Program delivery, ensuring strong learning and teacher performance
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the program, ensuring it is delivering value to its customers and users. Implement key program improvements to enhance value
  • Build a culture of data-driven decision making, using data dashboards to generate insight and drive learning and operational improvement
  • Ensure cost-effective program delivery, building processes and systems, and seeking ways to streamline, and improve operational performance

Accounts, Legal and Compliance

  • Manage the Cambodia P&L, ensuring the Cambodian office turns a profit
  • Ensure the company meets all compliance and regulatory standards, as per the laws of Cambodia
  • Secure all relevant government permissions and MOUs, to enable the company to continue to operate
  • Identify potential policy changes, and their impact on the company. Pro-actively leverage policy opportunities and mitigate risks

Communication and Reporting

  • Coordinate with other country offices, to share learning and insights
  • Provide regular reports and presentations on program progress to a range of key organisational stakeholders
  • Be the in-country contact person for investor and donor site visits


  • CEO


  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a hunger to make an international product work in Cambodia
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in a senior management or start up role in the education or technology sector. Experience in social enterprise or for-profit management preferred
  • Strong commercial acumen, with an ability to balance profit with social purpose
  • Excellent relationship and key account management skills
  • Background in program management, or program development preferred
  • Passionate about working in a start-up environment, and excited by the challenge of delivering solutions in provincial Cambodia
  • Outcome driven and interested in sharing in upside of the organisation
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in both Khmer and English
