Taramana is a French-Cambodian NGO whose ait is to support éducation and improve the lives of about 250 children living in the underprivileged area of Boeing Salang, located in the north part of Phnom Penh city (Cambodia). Currently, we are seeking for full-time staff.

1. The teaching of English language 

• Teach the English classes for different levels (mainly from grade 2 to grade 9)
• Prepare courses and exercises according to the level of the children
• In addition to the manual approved by the Director, use a variety of media to teach the four areas of expertise required (listening, reading, writing and speaking)
• Implement learning activities with the volunteer team
• Be proactive in order to develop innovative teaching situations

2. Evaluate the skills and the progress of the children

• Implement semester tests, correct them and report notations and evaluations to the Director. - Make monthly assessments and report students' difficulties to the Director and to the social team. 

3. Children attendance follow-up in class

• Fill-in the attendance sheets and forward them to the social team at month end. - Follow-up the children’s attendance and warn the social team about repeated absences and/or failure of a child

4. Training the future citizen Give the children a civic education, a knowledge of Khmer culture as well as social skills and values which will enable them to develop normally 

5. Introduce English culture to the children. - Introduce English culture using a variety of Pedagogical support - Can be assisted by an English native speaker volunteer to work on conversation

6. Uphold discipline inside the center

• Khmer-speaking
• University degree in English
• 2-5 years experience in tasks related to education
• Experience in a multicultural work environment
• Loves teaching
• Fluent written and spoken English and Khmer
• Very strong communication & interpersonal skills
• Autonomy & organisation skills
• Experience working with kids in another context is a +
• Sense of diplomacy
• Computer skills, especially in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
